EMMA DOERING
Dog Trainer & Worldwide Animalship Advocate
I have worked with & loved animals my whole life. Beginning in Kenya, I was born into an animal kingdom. My father worked with exotic animals (primarily elephants) & passed his passion and expertise of animalship to me. Throughout middle school, I spent my summers working & living with dogs, ponies, horses, mules, camels & elephants. Soon after, I adopted my first dog, Bentley (who I still have). I spent my adolescence understanding her behavior & how to best communicate with her. We even experienced living in Abu Dhabi together.

While attending the University of Vermont, I worked as a dog handler at a local doggie daycare, where I absorbed training techniques and learned how to navigate unique dog behaviors at high volumes. I also worked as a Therapeutic Horsemanship instructor, where I further understood the importance of animal connection.
I currently use a range of techniques to help owners support their dog to better their relationship. I use educated techniques to not only train dogs but to teach owners how to understand dog behavior & communication.
IVY BATEMAN
I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember.  Some of my earliest and fondest memories include my uncle’s late Bull Mastiff and my aunt’s late Doberman, who were two dogs that really jumpstarted my love for the species from a very young age. As I got older, I found myself constantly looking for ways to be around dogs and develop relationships with them. I had my first childhood dog, a Basset Hound, from 5th grade to 11th grade; we were inseparable, and she taught me so much about dog ownership. I spent my youth being the dog walker in my neighborhood, which evolved into doing regular dog sitting for neighbors, relatives, and friends. In my time doing this I have cared for a very wide variety of breeds and temperaments, as well as 5+ dogs at a time and extremely special needs and/or elderly dogs.
In 2018 I got my current dog, Rukka, and I was quickly reminded how passionate I am about the species. I am always working to strengthen our relationship and looking for fun and unique ways to do so through training. I believe in a very open-minded approach to dog training because all dogs are individuals and should be treated as such. I help dogs and their owners communicate and understand each other more successfully, improve their overall relationship, and ultimately live a happier life together through a variety of training methods and techniques that will be tailored to fit that individual dog and it’s needs.
I am currently in my last year studying Animal Care and Management at York County Community College and from there, I plan to pursue further education in the Companion Animal Science and Behavior field. I have also spent time volunteering at the ARLGP and have completed an Animal Welfare and Behavior course online through the University of Edinburgh. In addition to training and behavior, I also have a huge passion for canine nutrition and have my Raw Dog Food Nutrition Specialist certification through Dog’s Naturally Magazine.
